VHFLC Camp 2016 Photo Diary III

Bridlemile pays a visit to sustainable educational farm, Zenger!

Now in our final weeks of VHFLC summer camp, we've had a multitude of experiences to help us learn about our unique skills and interests, and to help us strengthen the VHFLC camp community through new friendships and bonds! From making professionally printed camper zines, to impromptu circus training, to sustainability lessons at Zenger Farms -- we're very eager to give you another peek into our adventures. So, go ahead and take a look at our 3rd camp photo diary, and join us on our many fun and educational journeys! Families and friends - if you are ever interested in receiving more information about our field trips and lessons, you're always welcome to comment.

Learning how to take care of farm animals not only helps us to develop compassion, but it also instills within us the importance (and joy!) of self sufficiency.

Apples and berries taste even better when you see how they're grown and pick them yourself.

What better setting for a lunch break?

Group meeting with our lovely large camp!

The best thing about these invaluable skills is that they can help us throughout our lives with gardening ventures, maintaining our mental and physical health, and more.

Meanwhile, our Challenge campers learned how to put together their very own zine at the Independent Publishing Resource Center!

Their project was lovingly titled: "Things That I'm So Stoked About" (Stay tuned for a complete album of the zine!)

Will bravely takes matters into his own hands...

...with impressive results!

St. Cecilia campers head over to the library for a multi-school Lego competition! Incredibly (but not surprisingly) two VHFLC campers, Will and Vince are winners.

The Beaverton Library hosts a wide array of interactive and informative presentations for campers.

VHFLC camper Eli is particularly interested in the portion on bones.

Another day we get to see a yoyo-juggling-unicycle fest!

And our camper Bao is the luckiest boy in the room when he gets invited straight into the action.

A visit to Creo Chocolate factory is tasty for our brains and our bellies!

Seems like Felani thinks so too :)

Be sure to check back in for our compete camper Zine: "Things That I'm So Stoked About"! We're proud to say that we've got some talented writers and illustrators in the house for your edification and delight! More on that soon...
