Winter Break 2017 Recap
Today is the last day of Winter Break camp. We wanted to take a moment and look back at some of the fun our School Age programs had over these last two.
One of the main highlights was our guest presenter, Presto the Magician. He visited all 3 camp locations on December 21st. Each time his delivery and performance delighted the campers. With student volunteers, jokes, and magic it was a wonderful time. The lessons plan this break also included some magic tricks that the campers learned.
The camp included plenty of games, crafts, and activities to keep the campers entertained and learning. Just because it is winter break, does not mean the learning stops. Group games are great for social interaction and self-discipline. These games ranged from becoming a human snow blower to pin the nose on the snowman, and so many more. *picture of game* Fine motor work, creativity, and measuring were just a few skills used for the crafts. From marshmallow launchers to creating their own puff paint, there were crafts for everyone to enjoy. Several clubs were also going on. Magic the Gathering was a popular one, but other athletic games happened in the gym. Campers were able to pick and choose the activities they participated in making each day tailored to the campers interests and skills.
On two of the days, the weather had us starting a few hours late. But that didn't stop our campers and teachers from going outside and enjoying the slightest bit of snow. From outdoor games to crafts, the campers bundled up to stay warm and have fun.
We hope your child had a great time this winter with us. We would love feedback on things you enjoyed and things you would like to see in the future. Please feel free to email our P.R. team at Ashleyk@vhflc.com with any feedback. We thank you again and look forward to the next big adventure!
