Winter Break 2016

The freezing weather hit us right before break, leaving us with a cold but relatively dry Winter Break.  This allowed for great times at camp with field trips, nature hikes and the ability to play outside!  Camp West at Capitol Hill enjoyed heading over to Tigard Bowl for their first field trip.

SCRAP came out the second week and kids got to play and create new items from recycled material.  SCRAP’s main location is in Southwest Portland, and their website is http://scrappdx.org/ .   They are great at being able to turn discarded items into something new and exciting.

There were also several Volunteers from Westview High school that came to interact and help throughout the day.  We are extremely grateful for the time they donated to be with the students.

Camp East at Atkinson got into the Kid’s Cuisine theme and cooked up some tasty concoctions.  They also spent some time learning that healthy food can be tasty food.

Winter Break was an amazing amount of fun with projects, In-house presenters and field trips.   We can’t wait to see what Spring Break has in store!
