VHFLC Camp 2016 Photo Diary II

Now deeper into the month of July, VHFLC campers have had a proper chance to try an abundance of creative activities -- like woodworking, sculpting, and paper making; expressive ventures like dancing, karaoke and theater; fortitude lessons like orienteering and map reading, as well as a wide array of STEM projects such as chemical reactions and icky space goo.

Additionally, on top of our regular trips to the pool and park (and for some camps, the library), Thursday affords campers the opportunity to take longer field trips to awesome spots like the zoo, Laserport, the theater and more! Meanwhile, our Challenge campers take field trips every day in order to learn more about the wide and vibrant city of Portland (and in turn, a bit about themselves!) So go ahead and take look at our sample of images from the past couple of weeks to get a more in-depth view into our adventures! We hope you enjoy, and stick around for our third photo installment of VHFLC Summer Camps soon.

Our St. Cecilia camp gets a hilarious, immersive performance from Tim and Plumkin of 'Teatro Calimari' at the Beaverton Library

Challenge campers (VHFLC's 5th-8th grade camp) learn all about the exciting intricacies of beekeeping.

"Wow, that's A LOT of bees"

Our Challenge Campers visit a seamstress' studio to see how she makes clothes (and how they can too!).

Ice cream: a fundamental part of any summer camp experience! Sometimes our campers learn to make their own ice cream too.

Come back next time to join us for more treats and smiles! :)
