VA Early Childhood Education - GIANTS

Today VHFLC students at our VA Hospital site got to take an extra special journey to help them conceptualize something they'd been learning about all week... GIANTS – or the scale and function of giant things, to be exact. They caught a glimpse of this GIANT doing some hard work and thought they'd go on a little adventure to investigate...

Since it was such a beautiful day and things were aligning just right, our teachers decided to take their students on a walk (though the students called it a field trip!) to see this strange metal GIANT in action...

On approaching, they discovered that this GIANT was in fact a crane! – doing some construction work on OHSU campus. The kids were thrilled to see something so big up-close and to see exactly how it was operated (by humans). Turns out that some of the biggest things in life are readily accessible and helpful to our littlest things! (And we do love our littlest things.) Scroll down for a group shot of these brave little explorers.
